As the world around me goes to hell again over racism and cops who suck at their job, I’ve been trying to get the reverb just right on this snare for the upcoming Radio Lies Remix release.
Radio Lies was originally released on UK Progressive Rock band Permanent Moods’ album Entities. I dug the song so much I got the stems from Aleš and went to work creating my own version of this dope recording.
In the below video you won’t be able to experience the awesomeness of the Melotron but you can get a feel for where I’m going with the flow and lyrical content. I’ll leave the lyrics for this verse below the video.
little kid turns on the radio,
influenced by the voices from the stereo,
filtered by God knows who?
but they don’t really care about me or you,
turn on the TV the message there, too,
we don’t even see it, we act with no clue,
addicted to the habits, seek pleasure like rabbits,
extract from the addicts, then throw them in the attic,
disposable labor, no mercy, no favors,
code 187 still an unsolved caper,
make that paper baby, make them ends,
it sounds so cool, show me where to begin,
the spark that starts the heart to part from ways we should embark,
swerve into the fast lane, the simple life forgot,
disconnect from our Roots but plugged into the Beast,
told to earn our way to heaven or they’ll turn up the heat?!!? HA!!!
